Artsy Things!

Good morning everyone! I have been a busy little bee lately and have been neglecting my blog a bit…

I wanted to share with you some of the artsy goodness that I’ve been working on the past couple of weeks. There is a whole mish-mash of things here so bear with me! I have a tendency to jump around in a lot of different projects…..

First up I wanted to share with you some of the fall decor that I put up around the house. Trying to get myself into a festive fall mood here in Texas despite the 90 degree temps!

The dining room is all set to go, except I’m still looking for my darn napkin rings! I suspect they could have been used as bracelets by my youngest….I used a burlap table runner with a vintage doily underneath. Weston had fun putting those little pumpkins around the large centerpiece. 🙂

I found this gorgeous red vintage tablecloth at an antique store in downtown Smithville. I loved the color and embroidery! I layered one of my great grandmother’s doilies on top.

Decorated the cabinet in our front entry way with some fall goodness and loaded up my Scentsy with some yummy fall smells-pumpkin and apple spice!

My whole front porch set up…please pay no attention to the creepy little face in the front door 🙂

And a detail shot….

In the dining room I created a cute fall banner from burlap, vintage lace, and ribbon. I added some burlap and paper flowers and sewed on the letter stickers. This was for the October New Issue: You’re Sew Cute, You Keep Me In Stitches with May Arts Ribbon at Paper Issues. Here are a few detail shots!

I’ve also been helping re-do my teen’s bedroom a little bit. Natalie proudly shows off her “N” collection. Or as Macie calls it “her wall of domination!”

While shopping in Warrenton, I found a seller of a massive amount of vintage saris. Jackpot! I bought a bunch of them, cut them up, and sewed them into curtain panels. Here is one of the panels. Now I just need to hang them….will post another pic of them hanging if that curtain rod I ordered two weeks ago from Amazon ever comes in!

I also have the privilege of being Guest Designer for Hydrangea Hippo for this month. I created this cute little Halloween house canvas using items from the October kit.

Whew! That was a LOT of projects! As a side note, I’m working on my scrapbooking again. I have realized over the past few weeks how much I have missed memory keeping. Want to see what I’ve been up to on that front? Check out my somewhat revived scrapbooking blog 🙂

Have any special projects you’ve been working on? I’d love to see them! Feel free to leave a link in the comments section.
